Shinetulga (Sheika) Sammbuudorj
Sheika was born in Khovsgul, Northwest Mongolia and raised in Darkhan in North Mongolia. He gave his life to the Lord and was spiritually born again in 1991 just after the Communist collapse occurred in Mongolia in 1990. At that time missionaries came to Mongolia to share the good news of Jesus Christ and Christianity. The Gospel for the first time was free to spread all across the country. Sheika first learned about Jesus at a Christian concert and immediately accepted Him as his Savior and Lord on November 9, 1991. After that life altering decision, Sheika started sharing the good news with friends and family. Sheika’s Christian ministry started at the same time as his new life in Christ. In 1998, Sheika planted a new church in Ulaanbaatar called Christian Fellowship Church in April 1998 even though he didn’t know much about planting churches at that time. God prospered this work and Sheika served first as assistant pastor and music director for ten years at CFC. Later he became the senior pastor in 2008. In 2018, Sheika planted a new church in the south section of Ulaanbaatar called City Vision Church.
God called Sheika to devote his life to planting new churches in Mongolia by first breaking his heart over those who were spiritually lost. Sheika saw so many people walking in spiritual darkness for they did not know the true God who loves them. In the early 1990s, many Mongolians were spiritually open after Communism fell, but after twenty years of freedom, many people lost interest in Christianity. Secularism has taken a strong hold on the population and it is much harder now to spiritually reach people. Friendship building with the intent to establish meaningful sharing and fellowship is now the key to reaching the lost.
After City Vision Church, Sheika and his wife Haka planted another church in Khovd partnering with a young couple (Mujy and Davaa). Both churches became self-sufficient financially and in leadership in 2025 so Sheika and Haka’s focus has now shifted to planting two new churches…one more church in another area of the capital of Ulaanbaatar and one church in the city of Zavkhan in western Mongolia.
Haka Ganchimeg Ganbat is Sheika’s wife. They married when they were young (July 2000) and they have raised three children in a godly way. Haka is a physical therapist and has a heart to support, equip and encourage Christian doctors and other medical personnel. She also has a strong desire to share Christ and the Gospel with non-believing doctors. Her medical credentials and medical ministry are excellent ways for opening many doors and for connecting local believers and churches to local government officials. We are excited to see what the Lord will do in this vital area and through the other ministries of Seeds of the Heart for we serve a Sovereign God who cares for us and leads us.
